  3. Young Tusk says:

I just got Edge and? I can’t wait to see what I can do with it. HTML + CSS equivalent of Flash….the possibilities….

sounds like you’re the fanboy.. I also like to be a dick? to people who do tutorials and try to help me learn things.

  5. Beto Gl says:

About the? fonts, will it be possible if you upload your own into the server, and modify the settings inside the code generated by edge?

  6. SDasgman says:

The part I liked: Sort of a problem solving video with messups but explanation of fixes and fixes. Which is in its way a good teaching style. It taught me more about edge than? a video without the messups.

The part I didn’t: Too much personal opinions on softwares/hardwares. Great your not a fan of Flash and PCs. The video title is “Adobe Edge tutorial, Quick Overview,” not “Personal Thoughts on new software.”

Otherwise keep up the good work!

I just tried edge out and I was wrong it doesn’t really do all the much. It doesn’t work with canvas at all but simply seems to be a gui? for jQuery.

  11. ddubs123 says:

I think the ui? is more similar to After Effects isn’t it?

Also while Flash has a lot more features, after you compile it to swf you can’t work with it anymore. With Edge after exporting it to javascript and canvas you can add more advanced features. Using Edge kind of takes out the tedious part of working with canvas from scratch.

If you make a video Adobe Flash vs Adobe Edge you QUICKLY find? that Flash CS5.5 has WAY better tools than Adobe Edge. Flash has 1,000′s of tool that Edge does NOT have .Adobe Flash 2004 is even better than Edge.

  15. Susan Walsh says:

Great overview – thanks! It was what I was looking for. I didn’t even notice? the “stupid pc” remark. Some people are so critical. Your only trying to help.

    Thanks again!

  16. campydoodles says:

Thanks for the info… I? too, could do without the ‘stupid PC’ remark.

  17. dweeper1020 says:

I miss Flash. It’s so much easier and better. And the filesize is so much smaller. And your code is? hidden. And it’s easier to create.

Everyone here seems to comments how HTML5 is scaled down version of Flash.
On the other hand, people at “flash vs html5″ vids are all like “Mobile Flash is dead! Apple win, HTML5? > Flash”

  22. CapsizedRecords says:

Disliked purely for “stupid pc” … Nothing about a PC is stupid, especially when compared against? a mac.

  23. stormtroopavk81 says:

Getting offended because of? a little comment like that means you’re the one who needs to grow up. This is a fine tutorial.

  24. FPChris says:

Scaled back version of? Flash. That is what HTML5 is.
